Meyersdale Area Historical Society

PO Box 134, Meyersdale

814-634-8654 (April through November)

Initially organized in 1993 to restore the Western Maryland Railroad Station, the Meyersdale Area Historical Society works to foster and actively participate in the preservation and acquisition of personal property, buildings, sites, landmarks, documents and other items of historical interest and aesthetic and social value; revive pioneer arts and crafts, foster interest in and appreciation for the history of the area, and carry on research in the same.
The restored railroad station serves as the home of the society, which meets monthly. Meetings are held at the station when it is open for the season and in the Somerset Trust meeting room during the off season.
